WHAT'S NEW... 2010 funding from Keg Spirit Foundation Following up on the success of our partnership project with the Scarborough Museum and the Keg Spirit Foundation in 2008, the Scarborough Historical Society has been awarded funding for 2010 to continue development of our youth engagement projects! In 2008, the Scarborough Historical Society and the Scarborough Museum partnered with the Keg Spirit Foundation to engage youth in an exciting project creating digital community history. Look what can happen with a little luck and years of hard work! Our stalwart volunteers spent months, working diligently to restore the building and make it our new Archives facilty. Thanks to their efforts our home is beautiful and ready for researchers. Our hours remain the same as always: Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and other times throughout the week by appointment Give us a call before you come to let us know what you're researching and we may be able to have the material ready when you arrive. Bendale: About Place On-line Community Memories Project ! The Scarborough Historical Museum is pleased to announce that 'Bendale about Place' a project completed with the support of the Virtual Museum of Canada and in partnership with the Scarborough Historical Society has been launched. Surf on over and take a look! Thanks to Rick Schofield of the Archives, Society member George Dunbar for his fantastic photos and all the Society members who participated in the project. We have been thrilled with the response to the exhibit including a very positive review in the Globe by Architourist columnist, Dave LeBlanc.
