Look what can happen with a little luck and years of hard work! Our stalwart volunteers spent most of 2007 working diligently on the Archives new location. Thanks to their tireless efforts our new home is beautiful and ready for researchers. Our hours remain the same as always: Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and other times throughout the week by appointment Give us a call before you come to let us know what you're researching and we may be able to have the material ready when you arrive. Repository of records and documents pertaining to the history of Scarborough from 1800. Documents, photographs and a collection of local histories in our holdings include: over 1000 aerial photos dating from 1949 - 1974 community photos showing street scenes and historic structures records from a variety of community groups diaries of some of Scarborough's early settlers abstract of deeds (microfilm) 19th century census records (microfilm) 19th century voters lists from 1870 - 1996 (incomplete) vertical files on topics of local interest historic maps of the area from 1850, 1878, 1910 and 1932 historic Scarborough cemetery records extensive newspaper collection 1870 - present local community histories (published and unpublished) records of the Scarborough Historical Society Contact us for an appointment to view archival material from the collections!
